Clear choices for a local-first planning tool.
Shed Planner keeps your current Shed Project in your browser. Security infrastructure and optional analytics are described separately below.

Who publishes this site
Shed Planner is an independent planning and decision-support product for US homeowners. It does not provide permitting approval, structural design, or contractor services.
Your Shed Project stays on this device
When you enter or change project information, Shed Planner stores a versioned project record in browser local storage under shed-planner:project:v1. The record can include your selected use, dimensions, path and material preferences, budget and base assumptions, local verification states, current Planner step, and calculated planning results.
If that record is damaged or incompatible, Shed Planner may preserve the raw value under shed-planner:project:recovery so you can discard or recover it safely. These project records are not cookies. The current product has no account or cloud synchronization, and Shed Planner does not send these project records to its server or an analytics provider.
Project records remain until you delete the project, clear site data, or your browser removes them. Browsers may restrict or clear local storage according to their own settings.
Security cookie
Cloudflare, the site's security and delivery provider, currently sets the __cf_bm cookie for bot protection. It is an HttpOnly, Secure infrastructure cookie created by Cloudflare rather than Shed Planner application code. Cloudflare describes its usual lifecycle as about 30 minutes after continuous inactivity. It is not a Shed Planner project or analytics identifier.
Privacy choice storage
After you choose, Shed Planner stores a small first-party local-storage record under shed-planner:privacy:v1. It contains a storage-format version, this notice version, an analytics choice, and the time the choice was updated. It contains no project ID or advertising identifier.
The record remains until you change the choice, clear site data, or your browser removes it. A missing, invalid, corrupted, or outdated record is treated as no analytics permission.
Optional analytics
Google Analytics is configured, but it loads and receives allowlisted product events only after you select Accept analytics. Rejecting non-essential storage prevents initialization. Turning analytics off later disables the provider and requests removal of its first-party analytics cookies.
Shed Planner does not currently use PostHog, Meta Pixel, Hotjar, advertising trackers, session replay, or analytics autocapture.
Your choices and Global Privacy Control
Use Privacy Choices in the footer to review or change optional analytics at any time. Necessary Cloudflare security and device-local project storage remain available because they support security and the requested Planner functionality.
When the browser exposes an active Global Privacy Control signal, Shed Planner keeps optional analytics off while that signal is active. This describes the product's technical behavior and is not a claim about how every jurisdiction applies GPC.
Third-party services currently used
- DigitalOcean hosts the production application.
- Cloudflare provides traffic delivery and security controls.
Google Search Console is planned as a publisher search-visibility tool. It is not currently described as a client-side analytics integration and does not require a tracker to be added to Shed Planner pages.
